Welcome to Bakboorð



Hi! We are Bjørn & Nathalie from Bakboorð,

an artisan microbakery in the impressive

felix pakhuis monument in antwerp. 


At Bakboorð you will find authentic sourdough bread

with a firm crumb and lots of flavour. 


We use nothing but the essential ingredients

to make an honest and tasty loaf of bread:

sourdough, water, salt and organic, stone milled flour. 




Sourdough is nothing more than a mixture

of flour and water,

that will ferment spontaneously

due to the wild yeasts and bacteria

that are present in both flour and air.



The most important quality of sourdough bread

is time. The whole process of fermentation

takes over 36 hours, which makes the result

more tasty and very easy to digest.



We love to get you acquainted with ancient

and less known types of grain like spelt,

barley and einkorn, and we try to offer

new creations very often. 




Most of our pastries are Nordic inspired,

so here you'll find traditional danish tebirkes

as well as cinnamon, cardamom and hazelnut rolls. 


We are also known for our unique savoury rolls



All of our products are made and baked

in our tiny but cosy bakery.
